Greek Chapter of SITE Holds Opening Ceremony
Last month, the official opening ceremony for the Greek chapter of the Society of Incentive & Travel Executives (SITE) was held. Brenda Anderson, CEO of SITE International, and Carolyn Dow, executive director of SITE Europe and past SITE President, attended the opening and signed the document for the chapter’s founding with Tassos Pappas, president of the Greek chapter.
The temporary board of directors for the Greek chapter include in addition to Mr. Pappas, Giorgos Barbouti, as vice president, Thanasis Grapsas, VP Education, Fotis Fotopoulos as secretary/treasurer and Spyros Livanos, as director.
The new board invited Greek businessmen of incentive travel to participate in this joint effort. SITE’s mission is to promote Greece as a quality destination and its members as experienced businessmen in the local and international market of incentive travel and congresses.
The chapter plans to organize education and training programs to increase the professionalism and effectiveness of its members, and to improve the quality of services for incentive travel. It also intends to create a “quality label” with criteria its members must meet as well as opportunities for networking among Greek and international SITE members.
Founded in 1973, SITE is the only international, non-profit professional association dedicated to excellence in the multi-billion dollar incentive travel industry. SITE has over 2,000 members in 82 countries and 28 local chapters.
