George Doukas
President,
Panhellenic Federation of Tourism Enterprises
Philoxenia 2006 greeting.
The growth in demand for holidays in Greece from most countries over the past two years, as is indicated by the notable increase in arrivals, raises further expectations for the future of Greek tourism.
At the same time, Greece’s responsibilities have become greater in terms of more effectively managing our tourism product, particularly in the context of sustainable tourism development.
Apart from the initiatives and efforts being made by the Greek authorities, both public and private, a significant contribution in promoting Greek tourism is being made by our collaborators abroad (tour operators and travel agents), whom we welcome to this year’s Philoxenia. We believe that by working even more closely with them, as well as with the other stakeholders in the tourism industry, we will be able to contribute significantly to the further development of Greek tourism.
We note with particular satisfaction all of the efforts made by Philoxenia management to improve services for the exhibitors and visitors, as well as all of their initiatives to bring supply closer with demand.
Poet takes this opportunity to send warm greetings to all of the Greek and foreign professionals and the public visiting Philoxenia this year.
