Another Successful Year for Clean Beach Campaign
Once again this summer, from June through September, Forum magazine’s campaign “Beautiful Greece is a Clean Greece” gave bathers a chance to enjoy spotless and well-organized beaches.
Clean beaches are central to an environmental protection program organized by Forum for the last 15 years to showcase Greek heritage by protecting and upgrading the environment for people today and for the future.
The campaign included some of the most popular beaches in Attica and other parts of Greece.
A group of sponsoring company’s helped fund the state-of-the-art equipment used daily to keep the beaches and shorelines clean, and to place receptacles for trash and recycling along the beaches.
The sponsoring companies also provided large beach umbrellas with their logos for bathers to use free of charge. Also, supervisors made sure that the beaches were kept clean and tidy throughout the day.
Sponsors for this year’s program included Nissan-Nikos Theoharakis S.A., the Postal Savings Bank, Infote, Jet Oil, Chipita, the Greek Manpower Employment Organization (OAED), Coca Cola 3Epsilon and ATE insurance.
