A New Tourism Complex for Peloponnesos
Deputy Development Minister Dimitris Georgakopoulos unveiled plans to build a state-of-the-art tourism complex that would include popular alternate forms of tourism such as spa, marine and golf facilities.
During the presentation of the plan, Mr. Georgakopoulos said that one of the government’s tourism policy priorities included the creation of composite tourism services that would upgrade and enrich the country’s tourism product.
The new site will be built on an area of 1,250,000 square meters within the Kounoupeli municipality in the southwestern Peloponnesos prefecture of Ilia. Hellenic Tourism Organization authorities recently signed a memorandum of cooperation with Hellenic Tourism Properties and municipal authorities in the area.
The first step agreed upon was to draft an environmental study and a development plan for the project, including the terms for a public tender.
